Booking Terms

These following terms and conditions apply to all tours operated by Cotswolds Ghost Tours which is a brand owned by Akeman Tours Ltd. (a company registered in England & Wales, reg. no 11796983). This document sets out the terms in which Cotswolds Ghost Tours (‘Us’, ‘We’, or ‘Our’) provides a tour for the person or parties (‘you’, ‘your’, or ‘the group’) booking the tour.

You acknowledge and agree that by accessing our website, and/or ticking the ‘I accept all terms and conditions’ box, you will be bound by these terms and conditions as written.

Cotswolds Ghost Tours offer paranormal themed tours, reflecting the oral traditions of story telling, in various towns and villages of the Cotswold region.  Our tours all operate in public spaces and in some cases visit private premises where we are welcomed at the proprietors’ invitation.

General Booking Information:

  1. Advance bookings for all tours must be made through our website and cannot be booked in person.
  2. Payment terms depend on the type of tour you are booking (scheduled or private tour). Please see additional information listed by category below.
  3. Once payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email containing the details of your meeting location and start time. Please be aware that all tours will start on time. Anyone arriving after the advertised start time will forfeit their participation on the tour.
  4. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that you have booked your chosen tour at the correct time and date before making a payment. Refunds and exchanges where possible, will only be provided at the discretion of Cotswolds Ghost Tours and as per our conditions listed below.
  5. Approved refunds will be issued to the payment card or bank account used to pay for your booking and will be issued in GBP only. If vouchers were used to pay for your tour, we will provide either an exchange, or vouchers (of the same value).
  6. We not liable for any exchange rate fees or bank charges incurred for any transaction.
  7. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances, in advance of the advertised start time, we will contact you at the earliest opportunity, and the price you have paid will be refunded to you in full. As an alternative we will offer you the option to reschedule your tour at no additional charge.

Scheduled Tours

Scheduled tours are advertised on our website to take place on specific dates throughout the year, but on an irregular schedule which we publish on our website.  These tours are available for purchase by the general public and anyone viewing our website.


  1. Booking for scheduled tours must be made through the secure booking & payment portal on our website, and payment must be made in full at the time of booking.
  2. Occasionally space on scheduled tours is available for purchase in person, from the guide at the advertised meeting location, and within 10-15 minutes of the advertised tour start time, but this availability is never guaranteed.
  3. Patrons wishing to purchase space on our tours in person, risk arriving at the advertised meeting place & time to find that we do not have space available. We will not be eligible for any costs incurred under these circumstances.

Cancellation, Refund and Exchange Requests

  1. Cancellation requests made more than 5 days prior to the tour date are eligible to receive a 50% refund, or an exchange to an alternative date and/or tour as per the tour schedules advertised on our website.
  2. Exchanges are not guaranteed, and are entirely subject to availability.
  3. All approved exchanges are subject to an administrative fee of £2.50 per ticket.
  4. Cancellation or exchange requests made with less than 5 days before the tour date are subject to a fee of 100% of the total cost of the booking.

Private Tours

Private tours are provided exclusively for a group of participants, at the request of a ‘group coordinator’. These tours are not available to the general public and are not advertised in the public domain.


  1. Full payment for all tours must be made by a minimum of month in advance of your tour date, unless otherwise stipulated in your quote.
  2. The minimum payment for all private tours is £150 (not accounting for any promotional discounts).

Cancellations, Refund and Exchange Requests

  1. Cancellation requests made more than 5 days before the tour are eligible to receive a 50% refund, or we can offer you a chance to exchange your tour for another date for an admin fee of £20.
  2. Cancellation or exchange requests made with less than 5 days before the tour date are subject to a fee of 100% of the total cost of the booking.


Code of Conduct and Liability

  • Cotswolds Ghost Tours are not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items, or personal injury incurred while participating in a tour.
  • All persons attending our tours are required to behave in a respectful manner towards each other and our suppliers.
  • If anyone arriving at the tour start location appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, we reserve the right to refuse their participation in the tour with no refund.
  • If your behavior is deemed inappropriate by our staff, we reserve the right to terminate your participation in the tour, without refund.
  • Cotswolds Ghost Tours are not responsible for any damage done to any premises or property, or any injury incurred as a result of your behavior on a tour with us. Should you be responsible for loss, damage or injury while attending one of our tours, you are liable for any charges due to the supplier directly.


Our tours take place regardless of weather conditions and if you choose to cancel due to inclement weather, your booking is subject to the cancellation terms above.

On the very rare occasions we choose to cancel a tour due to weather conditions, this will be as a result of if:

  • Our guide is unable to reach the tour location due to severe weather conditions;
  • Our guide is on site at the tour location and deems the conditions to present a genuine threat to the safety of our clients and/or staff;
  • During the course of the tour, our guide deems the weather conditions to present a genuine threat to their safety and/or the safety of tour participants;

In these situations we will offer you a refund equivalent to the remaining portion of your tour, or the equivalent in gift vouchers.

Age Restrictions

Babies, toddlers and children under 12 years old are not permitted on our scheduled tours, and all participants aged between 12 and 18 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult at a ratio of 1:3.  Babies, toddlers and children under eight years old may be permitted on private tours at our discretion, and only by advance agreement with you.

Data Protection & Photography

All personal data shall be processed in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

Photographs and video footage may be taken during our tours for promotional or editorial purposes.  These images may be used online or in printed matter.  We will always ask you before taking any images (photo, or video) in which your image may be included, to give you the chance to avoid being recorded in this manner.  If you do not want images of you, and/or your clients or group to be used by us, we respect this and will not do so as long as you tell us when we ask you.

If you do give us consent to use your image we may do so on our website and/or our social media channels, and in printed matter.  If you subsequently decide that you no longer wish us to use your image in this or any other way, please let us know immediately by emailing and we will then endeavour to remove your image as soon as is reasonably possible.  However, as this image will have previously been in the public domain, we take no responsibility for anyone who may have copied it or used it elsewhere.


Should you have a complaint about any aspect of the service provided by us, please speak to the guide on your tour who will do their best to rectify the problem.  If we are not able to resolve your complaint at the time, or if you prefer not to discuss the issue with your guide, please email us at or call the phone number shown on your booking confirmation, as soon as possible.
